Rachel Rainbolt, creator of Sage Parenting, homeschooling mamma, gentle parenting advocate, and general badass, and I, recently had a fabulous conversation for her Sage Family Podcast. We talked about values and how they relate to parenting, health, and general wellbeing. Rachael is wise, thoughtful, engaging, and eager to investigate the issues that matter to many modern parents and the children we’re attempting to raise. I was thankful and humbled to share this conversation with her.
We discussed inherited values — those values we unconsciously inherit from our families of origin, our peers, our friends, and even the society at large. We hashed-out how to begin looking at your values and defining them on your own terms. And because we all struggle with this from time to time, we wrestled with how to go about discussing your values with your partner and family and how to create a shared set of values.
Near the end of our conversation, we discussed the 23-Day Priorities Reset, my web-based video coaching program in which I provide the guidance, structure, inspiration, and encouragement to help you identify your values and priorities, adjust daily actions, and form the habits necessary to live your most authentic and healthful life. (Registration for the August session of the Priorities Reset just opened if you would like to join me on a deep-dive into values and how they relate to our health and happiness.)
Give the podcast a listen, I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
If you’re ready to explore your values further, especially as they relate to health, consider joining the next session of the 23-Day Priorities Reset.
